Rampant crime and corruption. Wealth inequality. Ecological disasters. Political polarization. War and conflict. Homelessness. Stagnant wages and inflation. Isolation and Alienation.
Do you feel it? It seems like most people do these days. Whether we refer to it as the meta crisis or the polycrisis or just ‘the world going to hell in a handbasket’, we sense the zeitgeist of our times. We are trapped in a civilization that seems to be spinning out of control.
And in the midst of the chaos and confusion, artificial intelligence (AI) has been released into the wild, introducing a whole new level of uncertainty and existential angst among the population.
Many brilliant people are discussing the complex issues facing our world and trying to wrap their heads around the problem space. They recognize that we need radical solutions in order to face our manifold issues, but they aren’t yet sure what those solutions will actually be.
Meanwhile, people go about their daily routines, collectively driving the economy and society toward a terminal fate, vaguely aware that they are contributing to the problem, but with little idea about what they can do to make a meaningful difference.
What can turn the tide of these inexorable global dynamics? High-minded theories by intellectual elites haven’t led to solutions, nor will simplistic calls for a return to freeze progress or return to bygone days.
There seems to be a lack of practical solutions to the existential threats we face.
But there is always hope!
In this website, we lay out an actual answer to the global meta crisis: ISITAS.
ISITAS addresses the root causes of the meta crisis — and provides tangible solutions.
ISITAS project is not theoretical. The plans are well-developed and have been reduced to a series of steps. It provides a simple way for anyone to join and immediately begin contributing to solving the meta crisis.
ISITAS is based on resolving a core problem at the center of our civilizational predicament — a failure in sensemaking. People all over the globe adhere to deeply-held beliefs that are often outdated, irrational, and contradictory to the beliefs held by others (whose beliefs are just as irrational as their own).
We live in a modern-day Tower of Babel, when the meaning of words, concepts, and institutions, that should provide a shared sense of reality have been splintered and twisted, leading to confusion and conflict.
ISITAS approaches this problem by providing a clear, neutral framework that people can collectively validate through the simple act of taking polls.
Based on this foundation, the platform will extend to support spin-off projects to solve critical issues such as homelessness and poverty, social isolation, lack of meaningful purpose, AI Alignment, sustainable communities, and more.
Though key elements of ISITAS project are well established, there is much work to do. The main missing ingredient at this point is people who understand the concepts and plans, and are willing to invest time and energy into the project.
The purpose of these presentations is to introduce ISITAS to those people who will recognize its potential, and who are ready and willing to help change the world.
