Rewards

As with any game, the apparent object of the ISIT Game is to win rewards for successfully progressing through the game. The deeper goal of the game is the satisfaction that comes from the engaging with the game and the overall Awareness it inspires, but on this page, we are looking at the more ITistic Rewards that people will earn by engaging with the ISIT Game.

Recognition

Players can also increase their game score by earning recognition for contributions to the ISIT Game. For example, when one player likes another player’s blog post, the person whose post was liked receives a specified number of points.

Tokens

At the base of the rewards system are the tokens scored for engagement with the ISIT Game as well as recognition by others of contributions to the site. Each type of engagement or recognition is assigned a point setting, so each time a player takes an action on the site related to a specific object, scores are calculated based on the action taken and factored

Factors

The specified points for any given type of engagement can be modified by any number of Factors. A Factor is an established condition that triggers a mathematical modification of the score to be assigned. All awards factors can be applied to a score assignment. Here are some examples of Factors that could be applied at the time of score assignment:

  • Took the action after 10:00 PM local time: +5
  • Post was liked by high-AQ player: X2
  • Post was liked by a high-DQ player: -20%
  • Special flash promotion: X5
  • Member has an A1 member level

So a final score for an engagement could look like this:

Player A likes a post written by Player B

Player A earns: 5 (likes a post) X 5 (during a flash promotion) + 5 (after 10pm) = 30 points
Player B earns: 10 (post was liked X 2 (player was high AQ) X 5 (during a flash promotion) = 100 points.

In the early levels of the game the rewards will tend to be of the digital form, and as players advance through the levels the rewards get increasingly tangible and valuable. However, rewards in the form of cash and high-value merchandise will be intermittently and randomly rewarded to players in a daily drawing.
